Why Your Practitioner's Own Work Matters
Experiencing the Work from Within
In many mental health professions, practitioners can complete their education, clinical training, and licensure without being required to engage in their own ongoing personal process. In Core Energetics, doing your own inner work is a requirement of becoming a practitioner. The practitioner experiences the process firsthand and continues their own work while facilitating it for others. This lived experience can deepen their understanding beyond theory or technique and influence how they meet and support the people they work with.
Continuing the Process
Becoming a practitioner is not the end of the learning process. Core Energetics encourages practitioners to continue learning and growing long after certification. As our awareness of ourselves and one another changes, our understanding of healing can change with it. It is important that we continue to recognize the ways that systems, beliefs, and practices have not always created safety or belonging for everyone in the therapeutic space. Listening to those experiences gives us an opportunity to question what we have assumed, broaden our perspective, and allow our work to evolve.
Growing With the Work
At Find The Path, being a practitioner means staying open to that evolution rather than assuming there is ever a final version of the work. Our understanding of healing continues to develop as we learn more about the collective human experience and become more aware of what people need to feel supported and safe. Staying curious and receptive assists me in responding to each person as an individual, rather than relying on a fixed set of assumptions or approaches.
